Made with a nickel -plated brass housing, this Seikosha ship clock is in EXCELLENT used condition!  It features a 12 hour display, along with a second hand.  Features the rarer spade-type hands, which are more sought after than the standard hands.  Made by Seikosha, it is 100% functional, and has some nice Kanji markings on the dial.  Dial indicates, "Luminous 1-Day Movement, Mod. 1 Type 1."  Also features some Kanji characters stamped into the housing, just below the dial (see photos).  Has a counter-clockwise wind, and retains most of it's original paint!  Typical ship clock, as pointed out in Konrad Knirim's military time pieces publications.  Like most Japanese items, it is a VERY RARE item,                 SOLD..SOLD..SOLD..SOLD..SOLD..

Japanese WWII Navy Clock From I-14 Submarine Very Rare WW2 Seikosha Clock.

Here is a rare WW2 Japanese Imperial Navy ships clock from the famous I-14 "Super Sub". This was one of the large, secret weapon aircraft carrier type subs the Japanese had hoped to help win the war for them.

Purchased direct from the US Veterans son who's dad was stationed on the USS Proteus, a submarine tender ship and the command ship for the sub fleet. He was in Tokyo Bay during the signing of the Japanese surrender. They were tasked with accepting the surrender of the Japanese submarines. The subs would tie up along side of the Proteus to be handed over to the US Navy.

His dad was part of the Proteus crew that would inspect and prepare the subs to be relocated upon surrender to make room for the next surrendering sub. The surrendering sub crews would be taken on board, deloused, and the proteus crews would take control of the subs.

While on the I-14, he and his crew mates would look for souvenirs. He saw and removed this clock from the sub and retuned home with it after the war. It was mounted on a wall in our house. It measures about 7 5/8" wide by about 2 3/4" deep. It comes with a key to wind it.

Sorry in non working condition at the moment .It appears to be in good condition otherwise, with a small scratch on the outer housing by the 12 and 1. Clock ser# 2561.

He was told by hid dad that the Japanese writing says " wind once weekly"

Item is used and currently not working and complete with key ..Many photos and documents come with this clock along with a signed letter of history by the USN vets son .  Nice rare clock with Japanese Submarine history ..SOLD..SOLD..SOLD
