Confederate CSA Cavalry Officers Sword Mfg. Nashville Plow Works With CS Flag Pieces & Note

Confederate CSA Cavalry Officers Sword Mfg. Nashville Plow Works complete with Confederate silk CS First National very small red silk frag pieces in cloth bag & note from family . This was a fresh Wilmington, NC attic found sword some weeks ago . Hard to find one much better that is so untouched and never been owned in a collection before .. Text book example with the "C.S.A" cast into the swords guard as well as the firm name " Nashville Plow  Works " . Blade has the crude non stopped blood fuller and is full length with only mfg. flaws when mfg. as they all have . Grip leather never been touched and complete with its original small twisted copper wire as you want one . Rare Early CSA Louis Froelich / Willmington, NC Staff & Field Officers Sword

Rare Early CSA Louis Froelich / Willmington, NC Staff & Field Officers Sword     Only 3 are known to date complete with scabbards with this one the only known example with a wooden scabbard body rather than leather ..Very rare .. This sword follows the B. Douglas & Co. Columbia , SC Staff & Field hilt  Reference Page 24 of the Addendum section of Confederate Swords by William Albaugh III . However its got more Louis Froelich unusual sword features with a black painted wooden scabbard with unusual mounts that have only been studied on 3 rare earliest known Louis Froelich Staff & Field officers sword examples .. Louis Froelich first started his mfg. of these types of swords in Wilmington , NC very early before moving his foundry to Kenansville, NC . It has been strongly determined with a studies of several other authorities along with John Sexton's studies this is one of the earliest examples of a Louis Froelich Staff & Field officers sword to have been a product of his first foundry in Wilmington , NC  . The wooden scabbard is interesting as its the only one like it complete today and also carries the flavor of B. Douglas as everyone knows B. Douglas did also use wooden scabbard bodies as well . It is a known fact that B. Douglas and Louis Froelich must have worked closely together helping each other out at times .  If you visit the Greensboro Historical Museum right here in my home town they have a mfg. marked Louis Froelich CS Staff Field officers sword on display with these same sword scabbard fittings as well but with a leather scabbard.. Very unusual feature only known used on these early Louis Froelich CSA staff and Field officers swords.  The swords blade measures approx. 32 1/2 inches and again is a known Louis Froelich production blade as well . Interesting to also note that the top scabbard mount opening has a Roman number IIII another Louis Froelich feature often studied with his swords .   This sword is in its original as found from the families estate untouched condition like you want one.  We also 100%  guarantee this sword to be untouched and unaltered in anyway .
